Welcome to the Homebase of the 12th IAP VVS Guards!
We are a virtual Russian Air Force World War II Squadron flying for fun with the games IL-2 (by UbiSoft) and its sequel, IL-2 The Forgotten Battles. We fly for the V.V.S. against the Germans and the Finns in Eastern Front. We have no connection to the actual country of Russia, nor to the former Soviet Union. We do not support nor endorse the Communist Party! Everything we do here is in FUN!! and part of a great World War II flight simulation GAME!! Our goal is to simulate the intense action that took place in the skies over the Eastern Front in World War II. As such we will not tolerate any actual prejudice towards any of the countries or residents of these countries! The real 12th IAP fought
in the defense of Moscow during 1941-1943. The regiment flew the
i-153, MiG-3, Yak-1, Yak-7 and also tested the Yak-9PD fighters.
Major K. Marenkov was the commander. In July, 1942, the 20th IAP
and 120th IAP merged to become the 12th Guards IAP. We represent
all 3 of these regiments (In Pacific Fighters, we will fly as VBF-80, a
U.S. Navy squad).
